Term 6 of Taylor's

Hey there everyone. I realized that i have not been blogging for a while now.
Been really busy with college! Last term now in Taylor's. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy that i'll be graduating with a diploma in my hands in just less than 2 months. But at the same time sad... cause i have had such a good journey here. It was fun and exciting, and i cherish every minute of it! So much has happened to me for the past 2 years. And i believe it has helped me to change, in a good way! :)

So anyway in term6, we no longer have pastry class. Which is a huge bummer for me. Was looking forward for more pastry. But on the other hand, for our kitchen class, we need to serve 3 course now, ususally we just serve 2 course for 1 pax. Now 3 course for 2 pax each~ what a major leap, but then with the addition, we get to bring our own commis! Wheeee~~ trust me. Finding commis is not an easy thing to do! Now that i think of it, whoever i commis for before when i was a junior must be a really happy person! Lucky you huh? XD

Other than that, i passed up my Professional Report. It's basically a report on our industrial training and blablabla. Everyone was basically and literally going coo-coo about it. Hahaha~ I wrote a report about cheese. Now that i think of it, i should have write on vanilla beans, or gelatin. Hmmmm.........

Oh and the subjects are quite interesting. We have sugar pulling class, and entrepreneurship which requires us to plan opening our very own business. Including the start up capital, location, competitors, uniforms, shifts and all that. Interesting but of course requires lots of group meeting again. Hahaha...... But that's fine. Since i have no class on mondays and fridays! Wheee~

Bonjour!

Hey peeps. How's it going? A few days ago, Tuesday the 20th to be specific, Taylor's had it's French week(again)! And this time, our batch was asked to create a specific monument that can be found in France of course! We are free to use any kind of materials that we can possibly think of. It just needs to be at least 30cm. Me and my group mates chose to create the Statue of Liberty, the one in Luxembourg Garden.

After discussing with each other, we came to a decision of making our statue from dead man dough!

Guys, and girls. Let me tell you something about life. Life can be great at times. It's wonderful, beautiful, astonishing, miraculous, stunning, breath-taking, adventurous, magnificent, superb, amazing, awesome, fantastic, brilliant, splendid, remarkable, tremendous, overwhelming you name it! But then on the other hand, comes the disappointment. Sadness, sorrow, depression, misery, regrets, mistakes, lies, fake-promises, fake-smiles, fake-feelings, tears, anger and grief. Anyway you get my point.

Life is full of disappointments. The truth hurts. Even when you think it won't, it still does. I guess the main reason to why so many people(including me) get disappointed all the time is because we put our hopes so high up and when truth comes by for a visit, we feel the pain. The bitter bitter truth. When your so-called-friends aren't even there when you need them most. They don't care about you. That moment when you are being serious and they just make a joke out of it, and all you can do is laugh back and pretend everything is okay when you know it best. You know it won't be okay. And all you can do is run home and lock yourself in your room. Crying on your pillow every freaking night. And coming back to society in the morning wearing your 'happy mask'. People betray you, broken promises, backstabbers.

Some people will come into your life and bring colours, make you feel that it's worth the fight. Say sweet things to you and give you hope. But then people change from time to time. Yesterday you know them more than you know yourself. Tomorrow that person is a complete stranger. People change, way too fast. Some to become better ones and some otherwise. Either way they still change. The thing about photographs is that it will NEVER change, even though the person did.

When you feel like there's no one to talk to, you feel all alone and empty. Feel like life is pointless, meaningless. It even makes you feel worthless. But don't be. Because by the end of the day, what matters most is how you see yourself. Don't let others get in your way, don't let them tell you that you can't do it. Believe in yourself! Everyone needs to have some sort of faith in something. Cause without a simple faith, one simply cannot go on with his life. He's a goner.

And also, you would have to forgive me that i get really moody really fast. It's just that people around me keeps on annoying me. They just push me to my nerve and always put the blame on me. They don't understand what i am going through. They have no idea. And when i get all sad and depressed, they tell me not to emo when in fact, its them who made me this way.

Zodiacs n whatevs

Allo~ Oh thank god im finally back here! I've been wanting to write here since last week but then i had to hold that urge down cause this week is a really really busy week. I had 5 mid-terms and a few upcoming projects due next week.

Anyway not the main idea of the story. I'm here to talk about horoscope todayy... Why you ask? Cause me and my classmates had this random talk the other day. How each zodiac can affect each and every individual. At first i was not really into this kinda thing.

So i got home curious and all. And i realized that these horoscopes are super true after all!
I'm a scorpio and this is how scorpio woman are like:

1. We are very mysterious cause we are highly secretive. You may think you know us but you will never know how we feel inside.
2. We are good mind readers. We know what's going inside of your head. So don't even think to play and fool us.

Term 5! (The Beginning)

Yoohoooo~~~ Happy new year to everyone out there. Hopefully this year would be a better year. Hehe... Anywhooo.... Everyone is back to school and work. So that applies to me too. I started my college life AGAIN for 2 days now. Truth be told i wasn't looking forward for it. I was like nooo.... i dont wanna go back to college. Hahaha..... But now that i'm in it, i'm okay. LOL.

The up side is i get to see my friends again after almost 4 months of not seeing them. I found out today when i was in class writing down notes my hands was shaky. It's been too long since i last write. Haha... right now my penmanship sucks. It never was nice to begin with. hehe....

So anyway we had pastry class yesterday and we all made "Sacher Torte". Very simple but delicious. First chef said we can bring all the cakes home we were like yayyy.... Then later on he said it's gonna be used for lunch service so we went like awhhhhhh :(((
So this one is my Sacher. So messy. Haha~




And today! We had artistry class. We learned bread weaving and we made bread basket. Like literally. A basket made out of bread! Hahaha..... Very interesting. To my surprise, term 5 is actually quite fun. (So far!)
That's not baked yet FYI. haha~

Christmas Spirit! :D

Heyllo there people~ How are you all doing on this fine day? I haven't updated recently cause there wasn't really much to tell. Life's been boring. Like seriously. But on the bright side! Tomorrow's my last day of working in Eastern & Oriental Hotel. After 3 months here i'm finally ending tomorrow! Wheee~~~ Can't wait.


For some specific reason which i do not know of, im so excited to end my training. I can't wait to go back home to Medan. And then singapore for the new year. Gosh i haven't been to singapore in ages. I wonder whyyy...... But anyway, i'm psyched for 2012. I have a feeling that it's gonna be a good year. I feel that something good is gonna happen. I just feeeel it!!!! Teehee~~




I even got a whole list of things i wanna bake this coming holiday~ Christmas theme!!!

First of i wanna bake a log cake. I tried to make it last year but it failed (twice)! I don't care i'm gonna make it again this year.




Then i'm gonna practise making my macaroons.



OOOOO!!! Another thing i wanna make is the croquembouche! Well at least i'm gonna try. Teehee~ So stay tuned! When i bake it, i'll post it up in my other blog! Tchao's people! Get your christmas spirit on~~ Happy holidays!!!! :D

Leave NO Regrets!

For the past couple of months or so i have been miserable. Like terribly. Something happened which i don't want to shout out loud. But anyway, i tried and tried to cope with it everyday. But as the days pass by, i just don't seem to feel better. Not even the slightest thing would help.

So finally i gathered myself together and found courage to finally ask for an answer. A simple explanation to whatever had happened. And just like that. I felt so much better. Like literally all the pressure and burden disappeared. So yeah, i'm glad for doing what i did. And one day i would feel proud of myself for letting the past go. It shall not haunt me anymore =]

Otherwise in the future when i am sitting down thinking...... i would feel all sad and it would make me regret for not doing what i should do. Point is, life is short and you only get to live it once. You can't go back to the past and change how things are. You only got one shot at your life so make sure you live it right. Don't let what others say make you change the way you are. You are who you are, you were born unique! Don't join the crowd. Stand out!

Lemon Meringue Pie

I found an interesting thing a few weeks back. All these while i've been wanting to learn the recipe of key lime pie. But i found one that is just as good. I learnt it from E&O Hotel during my training. 27September- 17 December. Yeah... so anyway.. chef asked me to do the pie all by myself from scratch to finished. I asked how to do it and get to work straight away. When i was done making the lemon meringue chef was like "woah. u got take any pastry class before or not? i see your pastry skills not bad!" i was like why thank youuu... Haha..




Basically we take the mini quiche line with chocolate, fill with the lemon filling and pipe the meringue~ Then burn the meringue.

And that's the whole result of what i made. Good eh?? Pro rite? LOL

Carelessness

Aihhh... Such a bummer. I hate myself for always being so careless and not being careful at what i do. While i was doing my training in pastry. I got a LOT of oven burns. Which actually sucks BIG TIME. Why you ask? Well one i'm a girl, it's permanent, it's HUGE, it's ugly, it makes me look suicidal, there are a few of it. Like =="""" much.

So yeah i have 3 marks on my left. And 1 on my right. Hopefully i will be more careful next time. Otherwise i would be SOOO DEPRESSED about it. Yeahhh....

I'm tired of everything. I'm tired of how life goes. I'm tired of playing this never ending games. I'm tired of saying i'm okay when i know i'm not. I'm tired of people pretending to be nice to me. I'm tired of those so-called-friends who are not there for me. I'm tired of not being good enough. I'm tired of being nice. I'm tired of faking a smile. I'm tired of thinking. I'm tired of the feeling that i aint good enough. I'm tired of being sorry. I'm tired of being pathetic. I'm tired of cheering up others when no one's doing the same for me. I'm tired of being lonely, alone.I hate myself for still hanging on to you even though i know we're never gonna happen. I'm tired of thinking of you when i know you don't do the same. I'm sick and tired of crying for you when i know it's not worth it. I'm tired of how everything i do reminds me of you.

PENANGGG!!!!

Yowww!!! What is up people? So as some of you MAY already know~ i am currently in Penang! Woots. Doing my second industrial training in this hotel called Eastern and Oriental. 'It is the most prestigious hotel in South East Asia' (my ass) hahaha....... that is so not true! Now now don't get me wrong. The hotel is great and all (from the ouside) but what not everybody see is the inside.



I guess i'm just over-reacting though. I think cause i went to Le Meridien first so when i saw E&O i was like 'whoa. okayy... wasn't expecting this" hahahaha... But so far everything is fineee... i'm currently in pastry. Like usual =]
The people are nice. Some are really funneyhhh... So yeahh.... Wish me all the best guys! Have a nice day! :p

THAT'S IT. I give up for marketing and english! Let the slacking moments begin! HAHAHAHA~~~ But seriously. Had enough. Leave it all to common sense and miracles! XDXD

History in the making

Never before in the history of my life (so far) has i got a wrong flight. It was the raya holidays for the past week and i went back to Medan. So today was suppose to be my flight back and guess what? I came to the airport at 9am cause my flight is at 10.10

So there i was queuing patiently at the counter waiting for my turn. When it is my turn, the lady was like "i'm sorry, your check in is not open yet. come back 2 hours before your flight." so i was like duhhhh.... it is 9. and my flight is 10. then she checked and checked. Guess wad? It just so happens the flight is 10. 10 PM that is. I was like whattttttttttttt???? are you sure??? really really sure? n she said yea.

Dad won't let me take the flight cause it'll be dangerous, so instead he bought another ticket for tomorrow. So im gonna miss one class. So funneh~ Isn't it funny? Hilarious eh????

So in the end i stoned at home today when i should be in Malaysia already. But i did baked again today. LOL. Just finished making banana bread not long ago. Haha~

People i hate

You know what. Today i am going to talk about the people that i hate! Well not exactly HATE HATE. No, not that way. Its just the type of people that annoys me and i just can't stand them! THOSE BUGGERS.

1. I hate the type of people that only look for someone when in need. If not, you will never hear from them.

2. Hate people who walks soooo slow when you are in a rush. Slow is fine, just don't block the way!!! LET OTHERS PASS!!!!




3. I hate it how when you are walking on a crowded street, a random stranger that is walking behind you just pushes you just like that.

4. You know when you sit on the train or whatever where you sit by with strangers. And these group of people just come and squeeze in to sit even though there's no space that the people who were sitting just HAVE TO stand up and give up their seats. Bugger la these people i tell you. CKCKCKCK....

5. Oh and i also hate people who just walks quickly and all of a sudden stop with no signs or whatever.


The thing that i don't get is how do they NOT feel guilty about it. Admire them i tell you!

Fire Drill

Today is friday~ friday gotta get down on friday. LOL. NO... THAT WAS SO WRONG~~

Anywayyyy.... today le meridien had a fire drill rehearsal. It was kinda fun actually. When the drill rings everyone went down. Some forgot that they were not suppose to use the lift. Some are smart. They took the lift to P1 and then took the stairs to P3 (so they look like they are innocent) LOL.

Anyway all the staffs were down there from chefs, to stewarding, front office, housekeeping. EVERYTHING! well not everyone though, some people decided to stay in the kitchen and continue their work i guess they were really busy. Hahahaha.....

LOL. the funniest thing is that all the sous chef were wearing the bright constructor jacket thingy. Not sure what its' called. There... down there~




Anyway its kinda fun tho, cause it kinda reminds me of my old school, SIS. Where we would like have this fire drills during classes. Sometimes even during our exams. Would you just imagine that! LOL

Hallow there fellas~
Its been 10 months and 12 days since i came to Malaysia to came and study at Taylor's University. Shine with Taylor's! I'm proud to be a taylorian. LOL. Anywayyy, back to the topic.

Before i came to Malaysia. My facebook friends was only 300 something. Then today my friends had increased to 600 sumthin. Which i am quite pleased of actually. This means that i had made 300 new friends within a period of 10 months and 12 days! I'm amazed. Hahaha... Here's to being friends and making new ones! CHEERS! LOVE ALWAYS, SALLY. <3

P.S. I couldnt think of a topic but felt like blogging. Hahaha~~~

Last Day/ First Day

Let's see now... So many things i want to talk about....
Well yesterday was my last day in Favola. SO the people there keep on saying gonna throw stuffs and everything weird at me at the end of the day. Bugger la this people. LOL. Then at the end of my shift. Joon started the war. I was texting then he suddenly throw flour at me. I'm like you're lucky it didnt kena my phone. IF NOTTTTT... you're gonna die KDU!!!!

Anywayyyy... they were making this really really disgusting pizza dough. Who would knew what they put inside it. I told them i am willing to sacrifice myself as long as they don't throw anything liquid cause i didn't brought a spare clothes. They agreed but then knowing themm... I DON'T THINK SOOO!!! Luckily they all suddenly dissapear and i took my chance and escaped. Who knew what could have happened to me! THE HORROR!!!!

But then since i escaped i didnt took any pictures with them... SOBSSSS

And today is my first day in Prime (steakhouse). Well so far so good and there's no story yet. Hehehe.... I'll story y'all when i can think of something. The thing that bugs me is that i will kena split in prime. SIGHHHH....

One thing i know is that favola and prime not much difference. I plucked parsley, i cut bread, made some sort of dip/condiment for bread and i sliced mushrooms. =="

Oh and the knife is super sharpppp... i accidentally cut a small portion of my nail. LOL

BUBBLE!!!

SHIT! I've been drinking bubble tea for three consecutive days. This is not good.. But i can't help it! I am freaking addicted to it. First i had the bubble tea at Sungei Wang called "coolblog". I had the original hong kong milk tea.



Then i had another one in times square. Not really sure what it is called. But i do know the bubble taste freaking awesome!!!

Then today i had a bubble tea from sukimye! It's a restaurant well not really considered as restaurant but something like dat and its located just outside of Taylor's. I gotta tell you i love their bubble tea wei... It taste freaking awesome. Somore i was drinking it on a hot summer day, SOOO REFRESHING. Yum yum yum. I loveeee bubble!




Now i feel like drinking one from sweet talk. Too bad they don't have it in malaysia. It's in singapore!!! SOOO Sadd....
Now that i think of it actually i've been addicted to bubble tea since i was young, in my primary school days, i used to drink it too from this shop called pearl terrace but its only in Indonesia. LOL

Favola~

I know2. It's been weeks since i last updated. LOL. But there's nothing much to say...
I am now in favola. An italian kitchen. And in italy, favola means fairytale.

I'm in the pasta and pizza kitchen. And this will be my last week there. I only have two weeks in favola. Kinda sad though. I am getting used to it and everyone in it. I love the kitchen, the staff, the food, the environment and everything. The fact that i have to go so soon just kills me! x(

So anyway for the past 1 week and 3 days, i had learn how to make pizza and lots of pastas. I can cook my own italian food now! No need to go to italian restaurant no more. I've been slicing mushrooms, slicing garling, chopping garlic, onion, parsley, grating cheese, preparing dip and so much more. Don't get me wrong. It's fun. I just love it.

Today and yesterday i went to cold kitchen, banquet kitchen, prime and latest recipe too many times to steal a.k.a take ingredients from them. They until know my name wor. When i come in they were like "yes sally. what do you want to take this time? come here everyday. two three times a day some more" i cannot say anything i just laugh. LOL. but it's true la.. joon and tariq and chef and everyone just keep askin
me to take from others la. Mostly joon! Tsk-tsk... <------- (KDU)
