FIRST DAY!!!

So a few days back (5 April 2011) was my first day at work at Le Meridien. Yeahhh… I was quite nervous at first but at the same time kinda excited! YAY!!!! So anyway back to the story. We were supposed to be there by 9am. I was there by 8.30 (don wanna b late on 1st day of work!).

Basically they briefed us about the place and how things are gonna work for the next three months then we received our name tags, lockers and we were off for uniforms. There were like hundreds of ‘em. I got assigned in pastry kitchen first. Yay me! After everyone got their uniforms, we were sent off to work IMMEDIATELY. Most of my friends have like a whole day of briefing and orientation at LEAST. Me and my fellas only 2 hours or so. But oh what the heck.

The chef briefed me and Lydia (a trainee from other college who will b in pastry for SIX MONTHS!) showed us the dry store and all the different chillers. Let’s see, there’s the walk-in chiller, walk-in freezer, ice cream box, standing haagen dagz chiller, cocoa room, a-la-carte chiller, four door chiller and a few more. All that in pastry alone. I’m amazed. Ahahaha~ But I gotta tell you. I was kinda lost yesterday. Quite blur really, new place, need to adapt to my surrounding (camouflage).

What I did was really simple. At first I was only asked to put cookies inside the container which is kinda boring. When im done with that, I was asked to pipe cupcakes. All two hundred and sixteen (216) of ‘em. But the chef said I was kinda slow. I can’t help it! It was such a huge piping bag and a huge hotel! I didn’t wanna do something bad by making it all messy and uneven. So I piped it nice and steady. But since he complained, I needa pace my speed and so I did.

At first it took me an hour to pipe 72 cupcakes. I speed up to only half an hour < -------- proud (lol)
By the end of the day, I was parched completely. I was like REALLY REALLY exhausted and my feet hurts like hell. But I think it is because I haven’t had my kitchen class for a very very long time. Almost a month ago I guess?? So yeah, that’s most probably the reason why. Anywayyy…. You guys are bored already aren’t u? So I guess I’ll stop for now! Masquerade-ing

I'm so bored today. It's so boring that it's actually killing. LITERALLY... IT'S KILLING ME SOFTLY. Anywayyyy.... so i started to dump the stupid boring facebook that still got me to open it a lot in a day even tho it gets really boring and did a little research on google. So i was in the middle of browsing and something caught my attention today. MASQUERADE... It's not the party that interests me. It's actually the mask. I'm amazed at how pretty and stunning some of the masks are.
The delicate little detail and the lines and everything about it. It's so beautiful and amazing i'm just amazed by it. It makes me feel like wearing one to a masquerade party. Here's an idea! LIGHTBULB... Let's he;d a masquerade party. You and me go masquerading.... HAHAHAHA... Nahhh.. Not gonna happen. At least, i don't think sooo.... X)

CONFIRMED!

Who ever thought that this 9 letter word could make me so happy and hype in the middle of nowhere. So yeah i had my interview a week and 2 days back and i finally got a confirmation from them today. I was so happy i couldn't believe it at first then i started to hum and smile to myself (yeah thats what i do when i'm happy). So i would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported me. My family, friends, chefs, lecturers and EVRYONE! i really really appreciate it. Couldn't have done it without YOU! I LOVE YOU PEOPLE! <3.

Too bad my dream didn't came true though! If you read my 2 previous blog post. Yeahh... Turns out only me, sayaka and damien are accepted. Not rick! Oh booo... what a shame~ If we all could be accepted it would be so much FUN! A big happy family~ Lalalala....

Yeahhh.. but still i guess fate decides? Who knows for sure right? Hahaha... So now as a good friend, (like i always am) i will pray for him! Keep my finger's crossed! Wut wut. LOL. Help me out also people! :D

Interview Day~

Sooo.... today's wednesday... 23rd of February. Yeahhhh.... It's the day of my interview at Le Meridien i was like "GULP" this is scaryyy but interesting at the same time... So yeah, since i requested to work in the kitchen more (especially pastry), i got interviewed by the executive chef there himself. He's Chef Antoine Rodriguez. Nice guy. He looks very kind,happy, and wise. That's him right there on top.

So yeah, it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I just gave him all the best answers i have and yeahh, he was funny too, kept laughing and smiling. So yeah... At the end of the interview, before leaving i was doubting whether i should shake his hand or not (professionalism) i think he read my mind and he gave me his hand,so i shake it in the end. LOL. Yeah,wouldnt wash me hand now. Well actually i already did. (LAME RITE?) Plus i said to him, i hope i would see you again and he was like "Yes, you would." But yeahh, that's what he said to everyone else. Hahaha... STILL... i must think positive! ACCEPTED ACCEPTED! :D

LE MERIDIEN!!!

Well a few weeks back.... I found out the ITS of taylor's is now re-open. So i open the website and log in immediately. Guess what! To my surprise... I'm going to be called on the 23rd for a interview!!!! yay meee.... LOLS.... so happy. Anyway rick, sayaka and damien are also called for the interview. So yeahhh... we could either be friends or enemies... (FRENEMIES).

But i had a dream last night that Sayaka, Rick n myself got accepted for it. Well i felt bad for damien cause he was not in my dream... But you can't blame mee.... I have no control on my dreams okayy... Unless someone who has some kind of revenge on damien came and hijacked my dream which would be totally freaky! HAHAHAHA...... But yeahh... this could be some kind of sign that maybe... just maybe we will get accepted. (I HOPE SO!)

SO yeah fellas... wish me luck for the interview andddd hope that i get accepted okayyy???? It means a lot to me!!! XDXD. Peace out! ^^v

New Year's Resolution

Season's Greetings!!!

You might be wondering why i updated my blog design. Well one answer, i want it to look christmas-sy. Cause i'm definitely feeling christmas right now. Spread the joy n love! Well, christmas is comin and i just can't wait for it! I do wish for a white christmas! LOLS. After christmas comes new year. Have you ever wondered why these two dates come so close together? That makes December such a BIG month. Don't you think? Hahaha... I know i'm crazy. This holiday mood is drivinggg me craazy. LOLS. Well i don't blame me, cause i'm not alone, many of my friends are feeling the same. But it's kinda a bummer, cause with all these holiday mood around, makes it hard to study for my finals. Urghh, i don't even wanna think about it YET. But i have to, it starts friday! -.- Gotta start studyin. Anyways, wish me all d best for my finals kayss.... Thanks!
